Dr. Bowles then traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in the top 10 percent of her class. She completed residency at Bethesda Health System in Boynton Beach, Fla. and received extensive training in the care of conditions involving the foot, ankle and lower leg, including traumatic and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Additionally, Dr. Bowles has completed many surgical training courses emphasizing adult and pediatric foot and ankle reconstructive procedures, arthroscopic surgery, limb salvage, dermatopathology, and nerve decompression techniques.

Dr. Bowles is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Board Certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot Surgery, as well as Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. Her profession is enhanced by her contribution in conducting scientific literature peer reviews for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and she serves as a consultant providing examination question material for the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Examination.

Although trained in the most intricate and involved surgical procedures of the lower extremity, it is important to Dr. Bowles to exhaustively attempt conservative treatment options first, using surgery only as a last resort. Understanding each patient’s condition as it relates to his/her particular situation is of paramount importance in her practice, as she knows that every patient has unique circumstances that requires individualized treatment so he/she can return to the most functional and productive lifestyle possible.

When she’s not improving the lives of her patients, you’ll find her spending time with her friends and family, dancing, and enjoying Florida’s outdoor activities.
