Dr. John Cameron
Dr. Cameron is a Board Certified Podiatrist who specializes in Foot and Ankle Surgery. He considers himself fortunate to have learned from some of the field’s experts in foot and ankle reconstruction and diabetic limb salvage. He looks forward to meeting his patients at the Imperial Point office.
Dr. Cameron is originally from Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Cleveland to earn his undergraduate degree at John Carroll University. He pursued coursework that allowed him to explore various careers in medicine and found that podiatry satisfied several of his interests as a long-time cross country and track athlete. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology, he attended podiatric medical school to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University. His education continued with three years of training in foot and ankle surgery sponsored by East Liverpool City Hospital.
Dr. Cameron’s residency training was based heavily in Youngstown, Ohio. The program boasts a strong presence in the area and is considered one of the nation’s longest-running podiatric residency programs. He received extensive training in the treatment of lower extremity pathology with exposure to proven foot and ankle surgical techniques. He values how he was to trained think critically regarding his work and strives to pursue opportunities to continue his education whenever possible.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Cameron earned qualification from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery which requires the satisfaction of various clinical and surgical training criteria as well as the passing of a rigorous examination process. He is also a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Cameron enjoys practicing all aspects of podiatric medicine. He prioritizes taking the time necessary to counsel patients on the nature of their condition so that they can make the most informed decisions regarding their health. In the setting of recommended surgery, he feels it is paramount that his patients possess the confidence that all non-surgical options for treatment have been explored. As a native Ohioan, he is excited about the opportunity to relocate to sunny South Florida. In his free time, he enjoys staying active by running, trying new foods and restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. He is also an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams.
