Common Ankle Problems
Certified Foot & Ankle Specialists utilizes the most state-of-the-art technology to properly diagnose your foot and ankle condition to ensure the best possible outcome while utilizing the most conservative treatment. The Boca office now offers standing computerized tomography (CT) imaging as part of the company’s comprehensive range of foot and ankle services. This pedCAT machine offers the new standard-of-care to properly diagnose foot and ankle conditions, and Certified Foot is the first and only podiatrist office in South Florida to offer this service.
Standing CT scans, which take about 60 seconds, provide greater insight on what may be actually causing foot pain and allow the doctors to fully evaluate bone structure and joint integrity under the patient’s weight-bearing conditions. This greatly enhances the understanding and planned treatment for complex disorders of the foot and ankle, increasing the success rate of subtle injuries, bunions, flat feet, sprains, arthritis and diabetes-related complications, as well as overall patient experience.
The team of doctors are highly trained to treat ankle fractures, foot and ankle injuries and infections, arthritic feet and ankles, tendonitis, work and sports injuries, lower extremity skin conditions, posterior tibial tendonitis, and are fully equipped to perform total ankle joint replacement when needed.
There are several factors that can cause painful ankle problems, and include fractures from tripping or falling, degenerative joint disease, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, foot or ankle deformities, and more.
Conservative methods will be exhausted before surgery is an option, and these methods include physical therapy, assistive devices, lifestyle modifications and medications.
The goal of our team of doctors is to provide our patients with an immediate decrease in pain that lasts indefinitely, an increase in range of motion and improved function, and an active and heightened lifestyle.
Always in excellent hands (oops, I mean feet) when you are in the care of Dr. Rowan and his excellent staff. During my recovery from surgery, his staff has been there every step of the way to accommodate questions and extra appointments.Tamara A.
I’ve seen Dr. Kinmon and Dr. Norris over the last couple of years and yesterday, even on a Saturday! Great doctors, friendly staff! It started with my husband going there, then me and my parents. Id highly recommend this group to anyone.Dawn D.
