Dr. Kyle J. Kinmon
Prior to becoming a renowned podiatrist in Boca Raton, Dr. Kyle Kinmon moved with his family to the South Florida area in 1987, where he graduated from Zion Lutheran High School. He then went on to attend Florida State University where he graduated cum laude in Biology and Pre Med. Having become interested in Podiatric Surgery along the way, Dr. Kinmon returned to South Florida where he first received a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a 4.0 grade point average, and continued on to graduate at the top of his class with many honors from Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine.

After internships at several hospitals, including Cambridge Hospital of Harvard University in Massachusetts, Dr. Kinmon chose a top level, high volume foot and ankle surgical residency program at Palmetto General Hospital here in South Florida. There he trained extensively with renowned podiatric surgeons, orthopedic surgeons and was educated in all areas of foot, ankle and lower leg surgery including elective and traumatic forefoot, hind-foot and ankle reconstruction, as well as infection management, Diabetic foot reconstruction and limb salvage. Dr. Kinmon trained in pediatric foot and ankle surgery as a participant in the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project.
Having developed a special interest in peripheral neuropathy and peripheral nerve surgery, Dr. Kinmon was accepted to spend time with A. Lee Dellon, MD, a world-renowned peripheral nerve surgeon and professor of Neurological and Plastic Surgery at John’s Hopkins University in Baltimore in the fall of 2002. Since then, Dr. Kinmon has performed hundreds of successful nerve decompression procedures in the treatment of these painful conditions. The excellent outcomes of his results have been presented at national conferences and recognized with an award from the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons.
Dr. Kinmon has also continued his pursuit of knowledge in the area of total ankle replacement and thus has become a regional leader in this super sub-specialized area. In fact, in January of 2009, Dr. Kinmon implanted the first Inbone 4th generation total ankle replacement in South Florida. In 2013, he performed the first Prophecy CT guided Inbone total ankle replacement and implanted more of these devices than any surgeon in his community. As a result, Dr. Kinmon was selected as the region’s most experienced ankle replacement surgeon and was first to train on the newest design, the Prophecy Infinity ankle replacement procedure.
Dr. Kinmon is Board Certified not only in Foot Surgery, but also was the first surgeon in Palm Beach County to be Board Certified in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He then sat on the ABFAS committee which drafted the examination for this elite level of Board Certification, and administered the oral certification exam for years. He is a member in good standing with the American, Florida and Palm Beach County Podiatric Medical Associations.
Dr. Kinmon is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and has contributed to the medical literature by publishing an award- winning article on original research in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He has authored several additional publications as well, including an article on Pediatric Flat Foot for New Balance shoe company’s health line and has more research underway.
As the Founder and President of Embrace Orthopedic, LLC, Dr. Kinmon is involved in the design and development of surgically implantable devices for foot and ankle and orthopedic surgery. He holds multiple patents. The first device, the Ratcheting Compression Plating System, was recently released on the market while others remain in development.
Dr. Kinmon is the Founding Director of Residency Training for Bethesda Memorial Hospital’s three year Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. He further supports education by instructing residents in surgery at three area residency training programs. He holds adjunct clinical faculty positions at multiple universities and his offices host medical student externs from across the country.
As the founding member of Certified Foot and Ankle Specialists, LLC, Dr. Kinmon sees patients in their Boca Raton/ Delray Beach Office. He is on staff at multiple area hospitals and surgical centers. He and his partners emphasize the importance of spending time with their patients and educating the patients on their conditions, realizing that a patient’s understanding of the problem is necessary for effective treatment.
While Dr. Kinmon is highly trained in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery as a leading Boca Raton Podiatrist, he uses surgery as a last resort, always first exhausting every effort to correct the problem with conservative treatment. In the vast majority of cases, surgery is not required, and the condition resolves with conservative treatment alone.
When he’s not advancing the podiatric field, you’ll find him running half-marathons, spending time with his family, diving, fishing and enjoying all outdoor Florida activities.
