Dr. Julio C. Ortiz, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Ortiz specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and limb salvage. He has extensive training in complex lower extremity deformity correction, reconstruction of adult and pediatric flatfoot, ankle arthroscopy, sports medicine and total ankle joint replacement. He is among a small sample of of podiatric surgeons in the South Florida area trained in total ankle joint replacement. Dr. Ortiz has trained on the Wright Medical Infinity total ankle with prophecy guidance, along with the Stryker STAR total ankle and the Zimmer Trabecular Metal Total Ankle.
Although trained in the latest advances and surgical techniques Dr. Ortiz firstly exhausts all conservative and non-surgical options prior to considering surgical intervention. Dr. Ortiz has a particular interest in regenerative medicine and employs modalities such as amniotic tissue grafts, regenerative medicinal injections and placental growth factors in order to avoid surgery when possible.
