32 years in practice

Dr. John Hurchik

Dr. Hurchik is a 1984 graduate of Boston College. He received his podiatry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship in foot surgery at the New England Deaconess Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons. He has been in private practice in MA since 1994 and recently relocated to the South Florida west coast.

Doctor Hurchik first became interested in podiatry as a Boston marathon volunteer. While helping direct runners to the medical tent at the end of the race he was impressed by the podiatry students from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine (PCPM) who had traveled there to work in the tent aiding runners with blisters, ingrowing toenails, plantar fasciitis and other foot problems. After graduating Boston College in 1985, he was back at the tent the following year as one of those PCPM students.

He did his residency training in Boston at the New England Deaconess Hospital (a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital) and at the Joslin Diabetes Center. He has practiced in the Boston area since 1991 with special interests in both podiatric sports medicine and diabetic foot care. In his spare time he has completed 8 marathons and 12 triathlons (including one Iron Man event in Mont Tremblant, Quebec) and has made it a point to thank the podiatric volunteers working in the medical tents at the finish. He is excited to now be a part of a state of the art “medical tent” at Certified Foot and Ankle Specialists.
